Cliffrose

The Cliffrose 55L Backpack is an ultralight, comfort-focused, rugged, and versatile load-hauler that 90% of backpackers could choose for 90% of their trips.

If you've got long days of trail-tromping, bushwhacking, or hiking over big passes on your horizon, the comfort of a hanging hipbelt and articulating shoulder strap design will make it all a breeze. And if you're hauling packrafting gear, 12 liters of silty water, or some ridiculous multisport gear combo, the Cliffrose's tubular aluminum full-box frame is ready for it—at 50lbs the frame isn’t even thinking about flexing. With its double layer bottom, this pack is rugged enough for a descent into canyon country, resisting the sandstone's relentless thrashings.

And despite all that capability, this pack is still only about 2.25 lbs.

In simpler words, the Cliffrose is a 55-liter, 31-37-ounce backpack made to carry up to 40 lbs comfortably and 50 lbs if you want it to. It’s simple, durable, and versatile.

  • Favorite Pack I've Ever Used

"This has got to be my favorite pack I've ever used. I've probably gotten about 350+ miles on it at this point and it's holding up wonderfully - can barely tell that it's been used at all honestly, other than the fact that the hipbelt and shoulder straps are breaking in and fitting like a glove.”

  • Beautifully Made... WOW

“The pack worked out really well, is crazy comfortable, and is beautifully made… WOW. I only had it loaded with about 10 lbs including 2L of water but was really impressed by how comfortable it was. The thick hip belt is really supportive and the double strap configuration is really nice to fine tune fit. The hip and strap attachment points allow the pack to pivot just enough giving a nice sway that grants range of motion when needed without throwing off balance. I think the sizing worked well. Once I loaded it up, it sank maybe a 1/2+ inch down below my shoulders but I didn’t notice any issues although it was packed pretty light, I see there is another shoulder attachment loop I could experiment with.”

  • Transfers Weight

“It was very comfortable and it seemed like most of the weight was on my hips. The pack wasn't pulling down on my shoulders and I was able to put a couple of fingers under the shoulder strap on top of my shoulder. Not that there was open space, I was checking the pressure on my shoulder.”

  • A Pack You Don't Notice

“I made it to Ashland yesterday. So far Around 650 miles on the pack and it’s been everything I had hoped for. Carries great. Seems impervious to the brush and blowdowns we’ve been hitting back in NorCal. Also the dual stays are a big improvement on the single stay for carrying weight and also more comfortable. I really don’t notice my pack anymore. Only thing that ever happens is the hip belt tightening loop might get caught on something but I can just shove it under the belt and that happens very seldom anyway. Not even once a day. So yea a pack you don’t notice hiking and I don’t need to baby. All good.” — PCT Hiker Larry
